KEEPING THE FAITH
ACTION ALERT
June 17, 2009
Fire David Letterman
Please forward.
David Letterman’s vulgar remarks made recently about Sarah Palin’s
daughter cannot go unanswered. While I do not watch the show, I
understand he made yet another “apology” last night in which he said,
“…the joke referred to 18-year-old Bristol Palin, not her 14-year-old
sister Willow…”
It was 14-year old Willow who attended the baseball game with her mother
- not 18 year-old Bristol. But, since Willow is underage probably on
advice of his attorneys, he has now said he was referencing Bristol as
the target of his disgusting comments. Even if this is true, and I doubt
it is - that makes it okay? No. Whether 14 or 18, Letterman’s comments
were way beyond the pale and he needs to answer for them. As you can see
from the following information, there is a large group of people who are
responding - let’s add our voices to theirs.
Please go to the link below and sign the letter calling for the firing
of David Letterman. Also included are phone numbers for CBS and the
sponsors of Letterman’s show. Take a minute and make that call. In
addition the following are other ways you can register your disgust with
Letterman:

Best Western
UPDATE: Best Western Continues to insist that they do not advertise on
Letterman. The fact is, Best Western authorized someone to create banner
ads and pay for their placement on the CBS.com website; as a result,
they are showing up on the Late Show s pages (I have screen shots of two
different ads from multiple days this week). If Best Western is unhappy
with the negative publicity, perhaps they should not advertise online
via CBS.
