KEEPING THE FAITH ACTION ALERT
June 10, 2005

This in from Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist's office....
...and two more of President Bush's judicial nominees confirmed.

I'm proud to report that the United States Senate confirmed Richard Griffin and David McKeague to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Judge McKeague was nominated on November 8, 2001. Judge Griffin was nominated June 26, 2002.

For years, both were denied fair up or down votes.

At long last, they got their votes.

Lifelong residents of Michigan, they are highly regarded as two of the state's most renowned jurists.

McKeague has served with distinction on the U.S. District Court for the Western District; Griffin on the state Court of Appeals for the Fourth District.

They have extensive legal experience, and have both been rated "well-qualified" by the American Bar Association.

They fill two vital seats that had previously been declared judicial emergencies.

And they join Judge Owen, Judge Brown and Judge Pryor as nominees who had been filibustered in the last Congress, but now - thanks to the principle of up or down votes - they got the fairness, the courtesy, and the respect they deserve.

More votes to follow in the days ahead...
