Ohio Choose
Life Inc. Announces Today They Have Raised Over $100,000 for the Cause of
Life and Adoption
WOOSTER, Ohio, Dec, 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- Ohio
Choose Life Inc. announces today they have raised over $100,000.00 for the
cause of life and adoption with the Choose Life license plate funds
generated by more than 5,000 Ohio drivers switching to this specialty
license plate. Ohio's Choose Life plate has been available since May of
2005.
Ohio's Choose Life plate effort exists today because of the vision and
volunteer efforts of many Ohio citizens concerned about life and adoption.
Our
purpose is to encourage Ohio motorists to switch to the Ohio Choose Life
license plate. The proceeds are used to encourage adoption as a positive
choice for women with unplanned pregnancies. Ohio is the 12th of 17 states
to have their own Choose Life license plate and nationally it has generated
over $8,000,000.00. For information on the Choose Life plate in other states
please visit the Choose Life National website.
www.choose-life.org
Today, there are 1.5 million loving couples who want to share that love with
a child. They want to adopt a baby, but there are very few available. Many
women with unplanned pregnancies are choosing to offer a gift of life and
love through adoption, to families who have not been able to conceive a son
or daughter of their own. This loving, but difficult choice can be very
expensive.
Funds generated by Ohio's Choose Life specialty license plate assist women
with the expenses of a full term pregnancy--such as medical bills, temporary
housing, transportation, utility bills, food, maternity clothing, and
similar expenses for the child, until placed with an adoptive family if they
choose an adoption option for their child.
Each county receives the money generated within their county by the Choose
Life specialty license plate. The Ohio Department of health distributes the
funds once annually to qualify agencies. See the bill on
www.ohchoose-life.org legislative page.
Each plate costs an additional $30. Ohio BMV retains $10 for processing and
$20 goes to the qualified agencies in an annual distribution. The $20 is tax
deductible. Qualified agencies are non-profit life affirming agencies such
as pregnancy care centers, adoption agencies and maternity homes.
Thank you for Keeping The
Faith.
