As we come to the end of another year, I
want to thank each one of you for your
prayers and support. You are faithful
to respond when called upon and the work
we do - the accomplishments we have made
would not have happened without you.
Last night I went with my
Atlanta family to
Lake
Lanier for
the Festival of Lights. In addition to
the beautiful array of lights - there
was a Live Nativity Play. It was
wonderful. Mary and Joseph were holding
Baby Jesus - they had shepherds - the
wise men - and live animals including a
camel! My grandchildren loved it.
Benjamin, who is six was sitting with me
- and whispered - "Grandmother, that
isn't really Baby Jesus is it?" I said
no - but a real Baby Jesus did come to
earth thousands of years ago to offer
the world hope and salvation. Connor,
who is four, kept trying to climb under
the fence to pet the animals....the
animals were grazing and Connor in the
dim light thought they were talking! He
told his mother, "I just want to hear
what they are saying!" Jeremiah, who is
two just watched with his big blue eyes
taking it all in.
Several years ago the Lord inspired me
to write several songs. Here is part of
one of them.
"God sent a Savior to the manger to be
born so long ago. There with the angels
in the manger is the way we’ve come to
know. And then one day - they came for
Him. The ones who felt great fear
within. They thought that when they
crucified the words He spoke would also
die. That was 2,000 years ago. The
words He spoke we've come to know. For
when he rose His words lived on. His
words are life. God's only son."
May all of you have a wonderful
Christmas as we celebrate the birth of
our Savior and His words that continue -
and will continue - to resonate in the
hearts of men. I pray all good things
for you and your family in the New Year.
Faith, family and friends. The three
blessings of life. I am thankful. |
